The Lessons

Before your Lessons Begin
You need to be17 and have a valid provisional driving licence. Complete a D1 form from the Post Office and send it to the DVLA with your passport or birth certificate and a passport-sized photo as ID. You can also apply for your provisional licence online. When applying online you may still be required to send additional documentation if you do not meet all the online criteria.

You may apply for your licence up to three months before your 17th birthday and you could book your first lesson for your birthday!

How many lessons will you need?
Your instructor will give you an idea of how many you are likely to need after your first lesson.

How long will the lessons be?
We recommend 2 hour lessons. In two hours, you'll have time to take in what the instructor says and put it into practise and that could cut down the number of lessons you need, helping to reduce the overall cost. With one-hour lessons you often spend more time recapping on the last lesson and preparing for next time than you do learning! You may wish to have a 1 hour lesson to start as there can often be a lot to take in.

The car
You will be driving a dual-control car. We offer the choice of either manual or automatic vehicles.
